Shahed-class one-way attack drones are cheap enough to launch in waves. The newest jet-powered variants are far faster than their propeller-driven predecessors. They leave guns and slow interceptors much less time to engage.
Defenders are often left firing missiles that cost many times more than the drones they shoot down. That exchange doesn't scale.
